Born From The Ashes

This is the OwlCrate July 2025 YA box. This box has items in it inspired by Eragon, Fourth Wing, Poppy Wars, Crowns of Feathers, and Song of Ice and Fire . These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

Fondue or Fon-don’t? We say do, because this adorable fondue set is sure to make your small gatherings or a night in a unique one. This item was wonderfully designed by Cade Roach (@heyatlascreative) and inspired by Eragon! 

For your days out, be prepared with all the cold drinks and food you can bring with our Fourth Wing cooler bag! This bag features a stunning dragon pattern by Carmen Di Mauro (@carmen.dmdesign).

On a chill day where you want to have an elegant tea setup, use our gorgeous tea towel inspired by The Poppy War, and it will be sure to elevate your tea time! This item was beautifully designed by Yasmine Wüster (@rhymes.y). 

This heat is no joke and will be ablaze for the whole summer, but it doesn’t mean you can’t stay chill with our useful hand fan! Inspired by Crown of Feathers and designed by Gretchen Cobaugh (@lichen_and_limestone), it's a pretty stylish way to keep your cool this summer! 

This month features the seventh pin in our Enchanted Elixirs collection! Each month’s box includes a pin featuring magical elements from fantastical worlds all tucked away in a bottle—designed by Layla Ashtar (@layla_ashtar_shrine)! 

Our seventh pin in the collection features A Song of Ice and Fire, where fire cannot kill a dragon.

The July book, Of Flame and Fury by Mikayla Bridget, features a world of fiery racing and dangerous conspiracies, in which a phoenix tamer is forced to join together with a reckless rider to win the races. The tamer’s home then burns down, which leads to an unlikely partnership with a tech mogul who may have his own agenda. 

As tensions rise, both tamer and rider will do what they must to protect their loved ones, even as their resentment sparks into something unknown.⁠

This signed edition features a stunning redesigned cover by @wavyhues  and stenciled edges by  @wavyhues. Turn over the cover for the reversible with gorgeous artwork by @panjooolart . On the hardback, we have a foil hardcover case design by  @heyatlascreative⁠. Inside, you’ll find gorgeous end pages done by @nicole.deal.art⁠. Finally, an author letter and bonus content from Mikayla Bridget have been bound into the book for subscribers!

Overall, the July 2025 YA Box, Born From The Ashes, items were good. I was delighted with each of the items and the thought that was put into them. My favorite item this month was the portal fan. It will really help to stay cool when reading outside.

August's theme is Eternally Yours, and the book is a thrilling and romantic paranormal fantasy. Our protagonist is a girl seeking a fresh start and sense of normalcy as she starts college, while still dealing with the aftermath of a loss from several years before. Everything feels normal, with the exception of a mysterious boy who seems to immediately despise her without explanation. The arrival of an unexpected message leads her to discover that the local legend she was told growing up is not simply a fairy tale, and her mysterious classmate seems to know more than he is letting on. She finds herself pulled into an ancient conflict that will test everything she thought she believed, and reveal truths about her family’s role that will change her world forever. ⁠
