Magic & Mischief

This is the OwlCrate February 2023 box. This box has items in it inspired by The Atlas Six, The Starless Sea, A Darker Shade of Magic, and Crescent City, as well as a fandom-neutral bookish item. These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

This is the theme card as well as the spoiler card on the back. I thought that the artwork was super pretty and minimalist, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Keep yourself cozy with this Atlas Six-inspired throw blanket. Designed by Forensics and Flowers with the perils of the Alexandrian Society in mind, this blanket features one of OwlCrate's favorite quotes from the book and will ensure that even the most dedicated of scholars get some rest.

This faux book journal is the first in one of OwlCrate's 2023 collections. Featuring in-universe references, each journal will be sure to transport you to a different literary universe. This month's journal pays homage to the mysterious and magical world found in The Starless Sea and has been designed with love by Lichen and Limestone.

As lovers of literature, readers often find magic in the most mundane of places as we lose ourselves amidst the pages of a good book. OwlCrate has chosen four famously magical quotes for this magnetic bookmark set with gorgeous design by Tim Bereen.

Designed by Saiyre and inspired by our favorite letter-delivering Antari in A Darker Shade of Magic, this letter opener references Kell's penchant for finding mystery and mayhem at every turn. You, too, can now open secret letters with flair.

This month's treasured tomes enamel pin is the second in the 2023 pin collection and is officially licensed. Each month's box will include a book-styled pin featuring in-universe references to many beloved books and fandoms- all designed by @no0nedesgins!

February's book selection is a must-read for fans of Caraval and The Night Circus. In Revelle, we're transported to a prohibition-era setting where families wield magical powers and fantasies are created- but only for the right price.

The protagonist, Lux Revelle, has such powers and soon she finds herself embroiled in a political plot that threatens to bring upheaval to everything she holds dear.

This signed edition features a gorgeous exclusive cover with art created by @nearixx and designed by @lichen_and_limestone. You'll also find artwork illustrated by @dianadworak on the reversible dust jacket. The hardcover case features exclusive foil stamps created by Teresa Chen (@divineliterary). Flip open the book and you'll be met with a dreamy scene created by @golden.rose.art on the exclusive end pages. For our subscribers, author Lyssa Mia Smith has written an author letter that has been bound into the book.

Overall, the February 2023 Box, Magic & Mischief items fit the theme so well. I was very pleased with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was the book journal. While I haven't yet read the Starless Sea, this book journal is so stunning, and I love writing in journals. There is also a Spotify playlist, the differences between the original and exclusive cover designs, interviews, books related to the book of the month, and other amazing February releases can all be found in the themed packet.

March's theme is Let's Rewrite History and is a magic-filled tale that defies the boundaries of time!
