Relics & Ruins

This is the OwlCrate April 2023 box. This box has items in it inspired by The Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Buried and the Bound, A Darker Shade of Magic, and Sorcery of Thorns! One of these items will be a brand-new collection they’re launching.⁠ These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

This is the theme card as well as the spoiler card on the back. I thought that the artwork was super pretty and minimalist, but I enjoyed it a lot.

Simply chill them in your freezer prior to adding them to a cold drink (make sure to hand wash before first use as well as in between uses- not dishwasher safe.)

Repping the houses Stark, Lannister, and Targaryen, and designed by team OwlCrate, these stones are made of food-safe soapstone and can be used over and over again.

The April book is inspired by Arthurian legend and packed with love, revenge, curses, and hope.

We are introduced to Tamsin Lark, who looks for a way to break the curse that holds her brother and endangers them both. She partners with a rival and they traverse through magical dangers and deadly secrets in search of the ring that can save them.

This signed edition features a stunning exclusive cover by artist Sveta Ignatova. You'll also find hardcover case art and a beautiful reverse dust jacket art created by @anta_arf. There are silver gilded edges, and the foiled end pages feature designs created by @divineliterary. Flip through the book and find the author letter bound into the book, as well as a curated playlist by author Alexandra Bracken.

Overall, the April 2023 Box, Relics & Ruins items fit the theme so well. I was very pleased with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was the white London hinged travel pocket because it seems so helpful for keeping things secure during travel. There is also a Spotify playlist, the differences between the original and exclusive cover designs, interviews, books related to the book of the month, and other amazing April releases can all be found in the themed packet.

May's theme is Against All Odds and is is a highly anticipated historical fantasy release! Featuring rival journalists with a secret connection, this story takes place in a land threatened by war.
