What other way could we start the new year other than including another mug from The Royalty Drinkware Collection! This mug is part of a stackable set with three previous mugs. This month’s stacking mug is based on Legendborn by Tracy Deonn and is wonderfully designed by Lindsay Hook (@offthehookstudio) and Yeatasmin Shiropa (@the.pearledreader)!

The January book, The Scorpion Queen by Mina Fears, the protagonist, Amie, is dealt a difficult deal of cards and finds herself disinherited, accused of scandal, and forced to serve for Princess Mariama.
Her father has created a series of impossible, deadly trials for Mariama’s suitors, and when Amie discovers a way to stop these trials, she must choose following her heart and escaping with the boy she loves, or finding the courage to help the princess.

Overall, the January 2025 Box, Rise Beyond Ruin items fit the theme so well. I was delighted with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was the sticker pack. There is also a Spotify playlist, the differences between the original and exclusive cover designs, interviews, books related to the book of the month, and other excellent January releases can all be found in the themed packet.

February's theme is Deception and Desire and follows our two protagonists, one who's magic is filled with bloodshed and heir to the throne, and the other who's struggling to survive in a world of a brutal reign.
A mysterious benefactor approaches one of them for the heist of a lifetime. As they both work together, their motives and desires thrust them into a battle of deception and carnage.
I hope you all enjoyed this review of the January 2025 OwlCrate box. I'm excited to read The Scorpion Queen, and am excited to use all of my themed items, some as decorations on my shelves!
Happy reading :)
