This is the OwlCrate March 2024 box. This box has items inspired by The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, Spirited Away, A Study in Drowning, and one fandom-neutral item. These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

This is the theme card as well as the spoiler card on the back. I thought that the artwork was pretty and minimal.

Bring shade upon yourself from the wrath of Yubaba with Spirited Away inspired umbrella.

Featuring all the elements of the beloved story in a beautiful pattern, this wonderful item was designed by An-Nhien Nguyen (@annguyenart)

A witch always needs a place to store their magical ingredients for safekeeping, and the reusable snack bag is the perfect way to do just that. Inspired by The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, this adorable snack bag was designed by Lisa Errico (@littleforestcat).

Here be dragons... enjoy a retreat in your reading with the dragon hanging door sign. Inspired by the dragons that hide away in seclusion, this gorgeous sign was designed by Sajra Fox (@sajrafox).

The next item is a beautiful journal inspired by A Study in Drowning. Adorned with foil and artwork inspired by the story of Angharad and the Fairy King, this journal is the perfect item to take notes about your favorite author or sketch plans to save a crumbling manor. This item is designed by Niall C. Grant (@niallgrant).

Here is the third pin in the Perfect Pairings collection. Each month's box will include a sliding pin featuring characters that pair together in the most fierce, intense, and romantic ways- all designed by Saiyre Art (@saiyre.art).

The third perfect pairing continues explores the secrets of Kell and Lila in the Shades of Magic trilogy.

The March book, The Last Bloodcarver by Vanessa Le, features a lush Vietnam-inspired fantasy and a city dwelling with evil. We meet Nhika who can alter human biology just by touching them. After getting caught using her powers, she's taken to heal the witness of the murder of an aristocratic family member and is pushed into figuring out where her loyalties lie to protect herself and the ones she loves.

This signed edition features a gorgeous redesigned cover and lovely matching stenciled edges by An-Nhien Nguyen (@annguyenart) and a ribbon bookmark. Turn over the cover for the reversible dust jacket with beautiful artwork by Golden Rose (@golden.rose.art). On the hardback, they have some striking foil designs done by Teresa Chen (@divineliterary). Inside you'll find gorgeous end pages done by Eevien Tan (@eevientan). Finally, an author letter and bonus material from Vanessa Le has been bound into the book for subscribers!

Overall, the March 2024 Box, Secrets & Masks items fit the theme so well. I was delighted with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was The Last Bloodcarver. This book is absolutely stunning, and as someone who has a bachelor's degree in Human Biology, I am beyond excited!

There is also a Spotify playlist, the differences between the original and exclusive cover designs, interviews, books related to the book of the month, and other excellent February releases can all be found in the themed packet.

I would definitely recommend an OwlCrate subscription to all of my book friends and readers in general. Here's the website if interested https://www.owlcrate.com

April's theme features a protagonist who has returned to the farmhouse they grew up in due to circumstances beyond their control—and they're determined to burn it to the ground. But when they find their childhood best friend chained up in the basement, left for the dead yet alive despite the odds, the two become embroiled in the darkest of plots — one that has been set into place decades ago…

I hope you all enjoyed this review of the March 2024 OwlCrate box. I'm excited to read The Last Bloodcarver with my OwlCrate friends, read along 4/20-27, and am excited to use all of my themed items, some as decorations on my shelves!

Happy reading :)
