I recently finished reading King of Pride by Ana Huang. This is book #2 in The Kings of Sins series. I read this as one of the books for my 24-hour readathon.

*POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT* Rating: 3.75/5 stars

"She's his opposite in every way . . . and the greatest temptation he's ever known.

Reserved, controlled, and proper to a fault, Kai Young has neither the time nor inclination for chaos - and Isabella, with her purple hair and inappropriate jokes, is chaos personified.

With a crucial CEO vote looming and a media empire at stake, the billionaire heir can't afford the distraction she brings.

Isabella is everything he shouldn't want, but with every look and e very touch, he's tempted to break all his rules . . . and claim her as his own.

Bold, impulsive, and full of life, Isabella Valencia has never met a party she doesn't like or a man she couldn't charm . . . except for Kai Young.

It shouldn't matter. He's not her type - the man translates classics into Latin for fun, and his membership at the exclusive club where she bartends means he's strictly off limits.

But she can't deny that, beneath his cool exterior, is a man who could make her melt with just a touch.

No matter how hard they try, they can't resist giving into their forbidden desires.

Even if it costs them everything."

This book was something different from what Ana usually writes and I enjoyed it. Ana is famous for her steamy billionaire romance stories and her swooning morally grey characters. She wrote this story out of her usual traditional style and gave us these opposites attract and a steamy story with charming characters.

This was addicting from the very start because of how opposite Isa and Kai were and they were not supposed to fall for each other because of the forbidden nature of their relationship. Isabella is a bartender at Valhalla Club and Kai is a member of Valhalla. And it's the club's rule that the employees of the club cannot be involved with its members. But what would happen when the sparks fly and they can't fight their attractions?

I loved how sweet and beautiful this story was because the characters were portrayed perfectly. The story was refreshing with the healthy and alluring romance of Kai and Isa without any lies and betrayals.

One thing that I love about Ana's books is that she writes Asian characters the way they should be written. Flawed but yet so perfect in their own way. She perfectly describes the Asian culture and Asian families in this. Both the MCs in this book are Asian and I loved how similar their culture and families were but yet so different in their own way.

I love how Isa and Kai are so different from each other yet they never tried to change the other. They both are unapologetically themselves. Isa is a social butterfly with purple streaked hair and Kai is confident and reserved in every way but they found their love amidst the secret libraries in the confines of Valhalla club and their sparkling chemistry and beaming tension.

I love their banters and how Isa had an apparent fetish for discussing sex in public where Kai could hear her and how he never made her feel ashamed about it.

They helped each other grow and even pushed each other out of their comfort zone. I loved how they both communicated their feeling with each other and never let the doubts creep into their mind that would've destroyed something they both were building for their own world.

They both have walls that they put up in their different ways but they found a space in between them and loved each other's flaws and perfections fiercely. It was beautiful how they fell in love with each other despite having so many things and people against them. I love them so much!

Isabella Valencia is bold, impulsive, and sassy. She is the very opposite of Kai with her flamboyant and vibrant personality. She added excitement to the story with her chattiness and her constant need to talk about sex in public venues. She's also kind and thoughtful and thinks she doesn't deserve happiness in her life because of what happened in her past with ex. She was struggling with writer's block in this and Kai was there to help her every time with it and I'm glad she finally found her love and dream.

Kai Young is the epitome of an aristocratic, and sophisticated person. An Asian Britisher who wears glasses and loves books and even translates them into Latin for relaxation and becomes a territorial caveman when he's jealous. He's just so hot, charming, and perfect. But apart from it he's very thoughtful and caring and has a soft spot only for Isa. He's very different from other MMCs in Ana's book as he's not morally grey and would rather do things in a more civilized way but not so civil when it comes to bedroom activities!! His British accent and the way he called Isa love and my love is the only thing keeping me sane in this life.

Check out King of Pride, and discover if it's the sweet yet seductive Kai who will sweep you off your feet. Don't forget to pick up book #3 King of Greed, on sale October 24th.

Happy Reading :)
