This is the OwlCrate January 2026 YA box. This box has items in it inspired by A Treachery of Swans, Six Crimson Cranes, Sorcery of Thorns, Ella Enchanted, and Quicksilver. These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

New year, new socks! Stay cozy in the cold with a warm pair of slouchy socks with a gorgeous pattern design! Inspired by A Treachery of Swans, this design was beautifully made by Julie Reinhart (@julie.reinhart_).

Measure to your heart’s content with our wooden spoons inspired by Six Crimson Cranes! Each spoon is labeled with a measurement ideal for cooking and baking. This item was wonderfully designed by Teresa Chen (@divineliterary).

What’s another way to be polite to your books than pairing it with a whimsical wooden engraved bookmark? Inspired by Sorcery of Thorns, this bookmark is the perfect reading accessory featuring a purple tassel and is wonderfully designed by Gretchen Cobaugh (@lichen_and_limestone).

If you so happen to go on a quest to break a spell (possibly a curse of obedience), don’t forget to take the Ella Enchanted inspired tote bag on your adventure! With an adorable design by Cade Roach (@heyatlascreative), this item adds the perfect whimsy to your journeys.

Introducing our new enamel pin collection for 2026: Blades of Love! This new collection celebrates a love for romantasy and features 5 pins that all go together to form a set. The first blade is inspired by Quicksilver. Be sure to collect them all!

The January book, The Swan's Daughter by Roshani Chokshi, features protagonists Prince Arris and veritas swan Delemza make a deal: provide safekeeping in exchange for Delemza’s truth-telling songs to sort through Arris’ potential brides vying for his hand in a tournament full of secrets. They must navigate treacherous threats, survive the tournament, and they may find solace in each other.
This signed edition features an exclusive redesigned dust jacket by @giannyfili and stenciled decorative edges designed by @lichen_and_limestone. Turn over the cover for the reversible dust jacket designed by @shannonwildsmith. On the hardback, we have a printed hardcover case design by @forensicsandflowers. Inside, you’ll find gorgeous end pages done by @peachie.mochi. Finally, an author letter and bonus content from Roshani Chokshi have been bound into the book for subscribers!

Overall, the January 2026 YA Box, So This Is Love, items were good. I was delighted with each of the items and the thought that was put into them. My favorite item this month was the pin.

February's theme is Let The Games Begin, and is set in a lush world ruled by god-like beings, our main character is cursed as a child by one of them—and the curse is slowly killing her. When she learns of a contest where the prize is immortality, she infiltrates the competition, determined to break her curse at any cost. There she encounters the troupe’s enigmatic leader and strikes a perilous bargain. But the more she delves into the secrets of the troupe, the more she realizes that her curse is only just the beginning.
I hope you all enjoyed this review of the January 2026 OwlCrate YA box. I'm excited to read The Swan's Daughter, and I am excited to use all of my themed items!
