Through The Seasons

This is the OwlCrate August 2023 box. This box has items in it inspired by The Chronicles of Narnia, A Court of Thorns and Roses, An Enchantment of Ravens, The Fifth Season, and Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries. These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

This is the theme card as well as the spoiler card on the back. I thought that the artwork was pretty but it was lacking in the creativity that I wanted. In other words, it could have given more.

Enter a new fantastical world with their next story doorway. Designed with love by Icewreath, this item is inspired by the Chronicles of Narnia. Travel far and wide, and display them on our shelves in front of book spines or stacks, or as a bookend to hold the many other stories you love to wander through.

The next item is sure to bring you closer to the land of the faerie. Their A Court of Thorns and Roses inspired tin is beautifully designed by @istomin_denis and features are depicting each of the seven courts in the series.

This month's treasured tomes enamel pin is the eighth in the 2023 pin collection. Each month's box will include a book-styled pin featuring in-universe references to many beloved books and fandoms- all designed by @no0nedesgins!

Peek into the dedicated research of Emily Wilde's Encyclopaedia of Faeries and enter the world of faeries, if you can find them.

The August book, Omen of Ice by Jus Accardo, enters into a world of the fae where no one is as they seem. The main character Keltania has trained to be a bodyguard for a Winter Fae. Things take a turn when her assignment is the heir to the throne. She is determined to keep him safe (even if he doesn't want it), especially when their lives and their hearts are at stake. This signed edition features pastel blue sprayed edges and a gorgeous redesigned exclusive cover by Franziska Stern (@coverdungeonrabbit). Turn over the dust jacket and reveal a stunning scene by Kateryna Vitkovska (@vitkovskaya_art). The hardcover foils feature gorgeous art done by Jade Cunningham (@bluelyboo). Inside, you'll find beautiful end pages of artwork by Anna Havaska Svab (@svanhaart). Finally, an author letter from Jus Accado is bound to the book along with some bonus content for subscribers.

Overall, the August 2023 Box, Through The Seasons items fit the theme so well. I was delighted with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was the book Omen of Ice. I am so excited to read about the winter fae and see what it brings. There is also a Spotify playlist, the differences between the original and exclusive cover designs, interviews, books related to the book of the month, and other excellent August releases can all be found in the themed packet.
