This is the OwlCrate May 2024 box. This box has items in it inspired by Daughter of the Moon Goddess, The Buried and the Bound, Lord of the Rings, Shades of Magic, and Percy Jackson. These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

This is the theme card as well as the spoiler card on the back. I thought that the artwork was pretty and minimal.

Place all your yummy dishes on the ceramic trivet. Inspired by Daughter of the Moon Goddess, this trivet is a standout piece for your kitchen and is stunningly designed by An-Nhien Nguyen (@annguyenart).

Get ready for your day in bookish flair with the desk mirror.

It is double-sided and adorned with beautiful designs inspired by The Buried and the Bound. This item is designed by Yeatasmin Shiropa (@the.pearledreader).

The metal bag tag is for the reader who wants to keep their bags safe and in style.

Inspired by the Lord of the Rings, this item is wonderfully designed by Teresa Chen (@divineliterary).

Use the A Darker Shade of Magic pen to annotate your copies of the trilogy or any of your favorite books.

This pen design is so unique and awesome, and is made by Lazare Art (@legionofpotatoes).

The enamel pin in the collection: Perfect Pairings. Each month's box includes a sliding pin featuring characters that pair together in the most fierce, intense and romantic ways- all designed by Saiyre (@saiyre.art).

The 5th perfect pairing is inspired by Percy Jackson and shows that Percy and Annabeth will always reunite even in the depths of the underworld.

The May book, Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin, features a magical celestial world and a girl trying to find her purpose. We meet Xue, an orphan and a talented young musician at the House of Flowing Waters. After her uncle passes away in a brutal attack, she is swept away by Duke Meng to his home, and they both work together to figure out how to stop the impending war that is about to break out in the six realms.

This signed edition features a gorgeous redesigned exclusive cover created by @danlinz_art with rose gold gilded edges. Turn over the cover for the reversible dust jacket with beautiful artwork by @_saintdn. On the hardback, they have some striking foil designs done by @azura.arts. Inside you'll find gorgeous end pages done by @jessichenliu. Finally, an author letter and bonus content from Judy I. Lin has been bound into the book for subscribers!

Overall, the May 2024 Box, Traverse the Realms items fit the theme so well. I was delighted with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was the book and I am very excited to read it. There is also a Spotify playlist, the differences between the original and exclusive cover designs, interviews, books related to the book of the month, and other excellent December releases can all be found in the themed packet.

June's theme is One Step Ahead, and takes place in a Qing Dynasty-inspired world and follows our young protagonist who had just witnessed her father's assassination. Disguised as her bother, she must infiltrate an all-male apprenticeship trial in order to find the suspect. Armed with nothing but her father's journal and a mysterious pendant, she faces danger at every corner. To complicate matters, she becomes entangled with a handsome and ambitious prince. Will she pass her trials and more importantly, who will she become at the end of this?

I hope you all enjoyed this review of the May 2024 OwlCrate box. I'm excited to read Song of the Six Realms with my OwlCrate friends, and am excited to use all of my themed items, some as decorations on my shelves!

Happy reading :)
