Treacherous Love

This is the OwlCrate February 2024 box. This box has items in it, inspired by Cruel Prince, The Scarlet Veil, Dark Rise, and Belladona. These books have been added to my TBR if they weren't already there.

This is the theme card as well as the spoiler card on the back. I thought that the artwork was pretty and minimal.

Introducing their new 2024 collection, the Royalty Drinkware Collection. Throughout the year, they will be including a variety of mugs in their boxes- each one is inspired by a beloved fandom that features royalty. Be sure to collect them all, because as much as they look amazing on their own, they are also a stackable set.

This month's stacking mug is based on The Cruel Prince by Holly Black and is wonderfully designed by Lindsay Hook (@offthehookstudio) and Yeatsmin Shiropa (@the.pearledreader).

Let's keep the burning in your hearts and not your hands with their Les Eternels oven mitt. It's the perfect item to have when baking for you and your loved ones. This item is inspired by The Scarlet Veil and beautifully designed by @wanderingmoda.

Consume all your favorite meals with their fancy spoon set. Inspired by Belladona and designed by Azura Arts (@azura.arts), the flourish of the handle and the quotes all together make for a set that elevates your dining experience.

Jazz up your window with their cool stained glass window decal. It'll bring such a pretty effect to spice up your space with the awesome design by Vera Drmanovski (@cera.drmanovsi) and is inspired by Dark Rise. (Psst... it is easily removable and reusable as well)

Here is the second pin in the Perfect Pairings collection. Each month's box will include a sliding pin featuring characters that pair together in the most fierce, intense, and romantic ways- all designed by Saiyre (@saiyre.art).

The second perfect pairing continues their love for Belladona with the enchanting Signa and Death dancing through the night.

The February book, Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli, is a bloody game of cat and mouse with secrets and ruin. Witches are purged and the protagonist, Rune, must hide her witch identity while also going out to protect her kind. When a rescue goes wrong, she must get the witch hunters off her trail, even if it means courting one she soon can't help but fall for.

This signed edition features a gorgeous exclusive cover created by @vera.drmanovski with pretty pink sprayed edges and a green ribbon bookmark. Turn over the cover for the reversible dust jacket with beautiful artwork by @nir4z . On the hardback, they have some striking foil designs done by @forenscisandflowers. Inside you'll find gorgeous end pages done by @offthehookstudio . Finally, an author letter and bonus material from Kristin Ciccarelli has been bound into the book for subscribers!

Overall, the February 2024 Box, Treacherous Love items fit the theme so well. I was delighted with each of the items, and the thought that was put into them regarding the theme, and inspired books to meet it. My favorite item this month was the Folk of the Air inspired mug. I love mugs, and Cardan and Jude will forever have my heart.

March's theme is a Vietnamese-inspired fantasy full of mystery and romance! Our protagonist, born with a forbidden power, is forced to help a wealthy family save the last witness to a murder. Her search for a cure leads to startling revelations about her past. It certainly doesn't help that the handsome and aloof physician's aide, who seems to be harboring secrets of his own, is determined to make her question everything she knows and all that she comes to care for.⁠

I hope you all enjoyed this review of the February 2024 OwlCrate box. I'm excited to read Heartless Hunter with my OwlCrate friends, read along 3/20-27, and am excited to use all of my themed items, some as decorations on my shelves!
